Through a partnership uniting the Appalachian Institute for Renewable Energy (AIRE), the Valle Crucis Community Park, and Mast General Store, this event will honor the memory of H.W. Mast by continuing to give back to the community by sharing the talents of local musicians in a beautiful venue using clean power on a stage that bears his name. The concert is free, but donations are encouraged. Join your friends and neighbors for a fun evening of music and off-the-grid fun. Community partnerships can make renewable energy a reality. AIRE, the Valle Crucis Community Park, Appalachian State University, and Mast General Store are hoping to use this community gathering place to educate the public on how renewable energy options can be affordable and not as complicated as one might think. This stage was funded by the The Mast General Store, the Mast family, The Mast Farm Inn, and the Valle Crucis community. We invite all of you to stop by the park (if you can get through the snow!) and check out this incredible project! A concert will be held in the Spring to formally dedicate the structure and recognize the students and contributors to the project. FaceBook Profile FaceBook Fan Page ![]() December 15, 2009 Valle Crucis Community Park is pleased to announce that on Thursday, December 17th at 3:00pm we will gather to celebrate the arrival of our newest amenity: a mobile performance stage to honor the late HW Mast. The stage was designed and constructed by students in Appalachian State University’s Senior Architecture Studio. The students spent countless hours designing a stage that represents the spirit of Mr. Mast and the Valle Crucis Community. For the last several weeks, they have worked round the clock to complete construction. We invite you all to come to the park on Thursday afternoon to see the stage and to congratulate the students on a job well done. H’s Stage will be a mobile performance community located in the park, providing a space for Music in the Valle as well as performances by Valle Crucis Elementary School students and other community groups. Students in the Senior Architecture Studio at Appalachian State University are volunteering their expertise and hard labor to design and build H’s Stage.
